MILAN EMMANUEL – CHOREGRAPHER
Milan Emmanuel founded the company No Way Back in 2009. In 2012, he is part of the first promotion of the Tremplin Hip-Hop and and continues to train in both contemporary choreography and hip-hop dance pedagogy.
Faithful to the inspiration of the street and rich of an experience acquired with the greatest current directors (Bob Wilson, Kader Belarbi, Robert Lepage, Olivier Py, Rosa Mei, Robert Carsen, Maria Clara Villa Lobos, Jos Houben, Fabrice Murgia and many others), the company has been working with the most famous directors of the moment.

It is in the street and in direct contact with the public that he finds the essence and inspiration of his art. Above all, he likes to play with conventions and open new fields of expression, involving the public to achieve a total and unpredictable show.

Faraja Batumike : Author-interpreter

FARAJA was born in Goma in the east of the DRC. Since 2007, he practices hip-hop, house, break, and ndombolo dance. He won multiple dance competitions in the East African region.

In 2020 he received the Lokumu Dance Award. He participates in several major international competitions such as: Summer Dance Forever (Amsterdam), Detours Festival, Timiss Festival and Urban Life Festival (Brussels), Flavourama Battle (Vienna). He teaches Afro urban dances in Goma and internationally.

Faraja’s choreographies have been presented in different countries including : France, Belgium, Tunisia, Egypt, USA, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya. In 2021, he presented a first stage of his solo “LA CAGE” during the Work in Progress of the Detours Festival and won three prizes (Charleroi-Danse, CCJF, Grand Studio).

In addition, Faraja is involved in activities for the benefit of local youth, such as coaching deprived children at the Don Bosco Institute through dance and hip-hop culture. He works to develop the local scene through his event the Goma Dance Festival.

Patient Ramazani Kabika : Musician & Performer

Trained at the Cultural Home of Goma, Patient is a musician in contact with several instruments. From 2014 to 2017, in Goma, he participates in the Amani Festival and is involved in the support team of the Foyer culturel.

In 2021, Patient performs on the Belgian French-speaking scene: Fête de la Musique in Dinant, the Citadelle of Namur for “On change d’air(s)”, but also at the Esperanzah Festival, without forgetting the Fête de la FWB in Brussels.

From June 2020 to March 2021, the artist participates in season 9 of The Voice Belgium. He also performed at the Afrika Feest in Beersel in 2021. Patient Ramazani Kabika also works for Rixrefugees, the local branch of the Plateforme Citoyenne de Soutien aux Réfugiés in Rixensart, as well as for the Collège Saint-Barthélemy in Liège.

Besides the Belgian scene, his talent is exported to the Netherlands, on the occasion of the Lelystad festival in 2017, the Flevoland Festival the following year, or again within the walls of the Poppodium in 2019.

Precy Numbi : Costumes & Scenography

Futuristic visual artist and Congolese performer, Precy Numbi testifies to current societal issues through his works and and proposes solutions of recycling. He wishes to question and challenge the viewer in the face of globalization.

Graduated in 2015 in Graphic Arts in Kinshasa, Precy Numbi is committed to the respect of human rights through militant performances in the public space. From 2017, he makes international trips during which he transforms himself into Robot Sapiens “Kimbalambala”, a suit of 23 kilos of waste composed in particular of carcasses. With this armor, he denounces the bad habits of Western countries that get rid of their cars in Africa and the plundering of minerals.

His works are made with yesterday’s goods that are transformed into waste today: plastic bottles, carcasses, electronic waste… With this choice of material, he wishes to show the strength of human resistance and resilience in the face of various environmental issues.

JULES ROZENWAJN – AUTHOR/PERFORMER

Jules Rozenwajn took his first steps in breakdance at the age of 15 by following his cousin in the halls where the Bruxel’Air crew (at the origin of the Cie No Way Back) trains. It is without slackening and with perseverance that he will devote most of his time and his energy to train with the control and the training of his movements. movements. At the same time, he experimented with another hip-hop discipline: Graffiti. The tag brings him to develop his art with precision and to reproduce gestures until mastery of its execution.

He will take part in the creations of company No Way Back/Milan Emmanuel “La danse des Anges Rebelles” and “Abstrkt” as well as in “Dress Code” produced by Cie Abis/Julien Carlier.

EYES-B – ART COACH

Eyes-B, painter and graffiti artist based in Brussels, has been drawing since he he remembers. He also paints since more than 10 years. He finds his inspiration in digital arts, design and the macro use of organic elements. He has gradually developed his technique using more of a freestyle approach – improvisation and spontaneity guide his work.

Lately, Eyes-B has started to put aside his classic graffiti
to concentrate on abstract painting. The legibility of the letter has been replaced by a moving form, images that carry sound. Music is the main driving force behind his work. Rhythm shapes his strokes and dictates his movements, earning him the nickname “conductor”. Rhythm, silence, repetition, rupture, dynamism… all aspects of the songs he listens to are highlighted in his paintings.

JULIEN CARLIER – CHOREGRAPHY COACH

Julien approaches dance in a self-taught way through the practice of Breakdance. His first experiences of the stage come from several
several interdisciplinary artistic exchanges and projects created in collectives. He participated in the first edition of the Tremplin
Hip-Hop in Brussels in 2012 initiated by the choreographer Jean Claude
Pambé Wayack. And, more recently, he participates in the training
Prototype IV at the Royaumont Abbey in Paris in 2017-18.

He created his first piece in collaboration with the dancer Yassin
Mrabtifi, Insane Solidarity, in 2012. He then created two independent projects independently: MON/DE (2015) and Déjà-vu (2016). In 2019, he created the piece Golem which will be selected to participate in several prestigious promotional showcases: Objectif Danse 9 (Wallonia-Brussels Federation), AEROWAVES SPRING FORWARD and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

His latest creation, Dress Code, features breakdancers and questions the practice of this discipline. The premiere will take place at
Julien Carlier is resident choreographer at Charleroi danse for the next three seasons (20-21, 21-22, 22-23). He is also supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Grand Studio, and is part of the
Grand Luxe network.

MAD MAX – DANCER

Vice world champion (Red Bull BC One 2020), Mad Max works relentlessly on her flow. A model of determination and willpower,
she keeps a subtle touch of femininity in her violent passages.

GASPARD SICX – MUSICIAN

He started as a self-taught musician in his mother’s cellar, then he perfected his skills at the Antwerp Jazz Studio before entering the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Since then, he has been very influential on the Brussels free jazz scene, not a single jam is made without him.

MARTIN SALEMI – MUSICIEN

He started learning piano at the age of six, graduating with a master’s degree in jazz piano with distinction from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. His repertoire ranges from jazz, classical to funk and rock, all on Steevie Wonder’s keyboard.

SLOWMATION PHAX
Born in Madagascar in 1965, but having spent his first years in Paris, Phax has been dancing in the street since he was 13. He is currently Swedish! He is one of the legendary artists of the first generation of Hip-Hop in France in the 70s. He developed a very personal dance style, the slowmotion, which allows him to walk a shifted and very humorous look on the contemporary world

ROYA THE DESTROYA
Roya was born with only one leg. She makes fun of it by telling various stories about “how she lost her leg”. Roya travels the world: what she likes most is to do “Street Shows” to be in direct contact with the population. In addition to impressive dancer with a great mastery of breakdancing, she is also a she is also a great actress and a great dancer.

MICAEL ANIGBE
Micael was born in Ivory Coast, he arrived in Belgium at 15 years old. New talent of the Belgian Bboy scene, Micael has a very powerful and fiery style. He turns on his head, every night, on the Place de la Bourse in Brussels. He has a youthful energy and never loses his joy of living.

HELLO SHELLY
Shelbatra, better known as Hello Shelly in the burlesque scene, lived in Kosovo until the war broke out. With her talents as a stripper and contemporary performer, she wants to make her audience think about the position of women in our society. She also practices Thai boxing assiduously, from Brussels to Bangkok. These multiple facets make her a colorful character.

AURÉLIE CASTIN
Talented lyrical singer, Aurélie Castin studied at the conservatory. She also performs soul/funk and RnB covers funk and RnB which are the basis of “Hip-Hop” music. Aurélie also practices jazz dance. She likes what is “written” and square in contrast to the freestyle culture inherent to Hip-Hop..

BIG BEN – BEATBOX
Double Belgian champion of beat boxing, he is part of the world top in his art. Known for his infra bass, he produces the lowest sounds in the world. What he likes the most is to exchange with the public and to react to their requests.
